👽 Is the Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS Alien Technology?
This is actually the title of a scientific paper published on 17th July 2025, by Adam Hibberd, Adam Crowl and Abraham Loeb of the Harvard University Astronomy Department’s Initiative for Interstellar Studies. From their Abstract:
‘At this early stage of its passage through our Solar System, 3I/ATLAS, the recently discovered interstellar interloper, has displayed various anomalous characteristics, determined from photometric and astrometric observations.’
Their paper, they say, provides ‘a testable hypothesis’ that 3I/ATLAS ‘is a technological artifact, and furthermore has active intelligence.’
